38, the new 37

I pity the fool

So I haven’t posted for nearly two weeks. My life has been turned upside down but that’s no excuse. So many thoughts scrambled in my head, but none of it makes any sense for me.

Its not all bad… I’ve needed a good kick in the pants. I’ll be 38 in a few days and I’m going to start it right. A new outlook, a new beginning. I would like to say that I’ll be a whole new me, but that would just be a fantasy.

Instead I find myself in recovery, a rebound of sorts. I’m not looking forward to my birthday, but I am looking forward to the following day. It will be the first day of the rest of my life and with Mr. T in my pocket, what could go wrong?

"How to make money blogging" panel

"How to make money blogging" panel

Last night I went to the Hester Street Collaborative event where some residents gather to brainstorm learning project for kids. There were pizza, beer and some arts and crafts. Everyone had fun although I’m not sure if any consensus was arrived about what the kids should do.

I’m going to try to make contribute by designing a small table that 4th graders can build and use as a work table for their outdoor garden. I really have no idea how to contact the other people in the group.

Went to a “How to make money blogging” sponsored by AOL tonight. It was very interesting to meet a bunch of people who are passionate about blogging. I’ll be creating my own blog ( other than this one) about lower east side art. I met some cool people and got a chance to talk to one of the panelists, Stephen Lenz about my project. He seemed genuinely excited about it.

Now I really have to deliver.
